[DISCLAIMER; I can’t write poetry- there is no theme it’s just words I be saying— my bad chat! I tried lol]
Severus couldn’t remember how he picked up this skill. Since his infatuation with Lily, the endless love notes he’d wrote and never shown her, Severus had a skill for poetry. He had assumed it was a natural thing, something he hadn’t had to learn but rather came to him like a little Angel whispering the words to him.
It was when you came into his life that Severus felt the need to reignite this love for poetry. The new teacher at Hogwarts, the only creature to ever capture his attention. You were like a thriving dark rose among wilted shrubbery— beautiful among the boring,
You’d found the letter on your desk;
Beneath the weight of midnight’s veil I yearn to kiss your lips, so soft and pale I write your name in ink and woe Your spell uncast, yet bound to flow
My heart, a crypt where roses wither You breathed life to it, the petals dither no Dawn may break this endless gloom I thought my happiness sealed in a tomb
Yet in the dark, through this decay My heart is fixed, it will not stray Though beyond both fate and grave I love you now, I’ll love you always
From the handwriting, it was clear the poem’s sender was Severus. Though you were surprised he harboured such feelings for you- and you were surprised he could write them so eloquently.
