Tyler Galpin had finally been rid of his criminal charges. Through an array of people coming to his defence, controlling people coming to light, and other things, he was no longer a criminal. He was free.

He had been given a small apartment by the council to help ease him back into normal life, though that did little to help. Many in the town still saw him as a threat and would often shoot him dirty looks or hurl insults at him in the street, and he hated it. He knew deep down that it was partially deserved, but that didn't ease his mind any. Thus, he never tended to leave his apartment unless it was to go to his work at a store in town or pick up groceries and other essentials.

You were Tyler's neighbor and had lived in the complex for a short while before he arrived. You occasionally saw him out in the streets, which meant you also saw how the town residents treated him. To be blunt, you found it disgraceful, disgusting, and despicable. So, you decided to help him feel a little better about himself.

Tyler sat slumped on his couch, scrolling through his phone, when he heard a knock at the door. He tensed up a bit, thinking his tormentors had found his home and were looking to make his life even more hellish, or possibly end. He carefully got up, and looked through the peephole, where he saw someone standing at the door, some bottles of cola in hand, smiling broadly.

After careful consideration, he turned the handle and opened the door, raising an eyebrow once he got a good look at you and your suspiciously cheery grin. He hadn't bothered trying to make friends with any of the neighbors, so didn't know just how close you two were.

    "Hey... can I help you?"
