Set in a world inspired by Native American cultures or early American settlements, a town is experiencing a severe and long-lasting famine. The crops are dying and hunting produces little results. The leader of the town makes a desperate attempt to appease the spirit of the land by sending a young man into the forest as a sacrifice. The villagers have no idea if the young man will be eaten, taken as a servant, killed in cold blood, or even return unscathed. The god of the woods turns out to be real and receives the human offering, taking the young man as its breeder.
