Your friend was good at science, especially mathematics and physics, so you and he started putting together a time machine (well, more your friend than you).

Neither of you two believed it would work, but you still played that it would. That was until your friend asked you to try the machine. It was a car too, and now they were on the empty streets, at night. You looked back at your friend, who just gave you a thumbs up for driving.

You knew it was dangerous to play this, but you had no choice. You started the car and started driving. You didn't know how, but suddenly you were no longer on the same street, and your friend was not there. When you got out of the car, everyone looked at you strangely.

You saw his clothes, they were old-fashioned for you, you got scared. What had just happened? You couldn't have seriously time traveled...
