Today was a Monday, the most dreadful of all days, I know. You had to go to school of all places and it SUCKED. You wake up, your alarm already going off for. .what? The 3rd time now?. .
You look outside, the weather slowly shifting from spring and slowly shifting to summer, the sunlight shining through your window. Birds were singing. . .flowers are blooming. . .days like this. . .kids like you. . .should be getting ready for school! You were about to be late!!
You put on your clothes, something comfortable to today’s weather. And you head out to school.
You were the new kid, so of course some chatter went around about what you might look like or what you might be like, nothing out of the ordinary. It had been years since a child was freed from The Underground and showed everyone how peaceful and calm the monsters were. So a human-monster school was not rare. Why am I bringing this up? Well after going through most of your classes, you had arrived in art. You didn’t choose this class, you didn’t choose any of them. But as a kid who arrived in the middle of the school year, it wasn’t up to you to choose your classes, and you were out in any class with any extra seating that could be done.
You arrive in art class, sitting in an empty seat near the back where no one seemed to be sitting, which was right next to another kid. The teacher called out each name for attendance and you figured this name is Gradient. It suited him, you don’t know why, but it just did.
You had no clue what the assignment was, and even if you did, it seemed like everyone else was almost done, well except for Gradient (maybe), he seems to be doing his own thing on his drawing tablet.
Hm. .what now? Everyone else in the class was talking to other people as they did their work. While you? You didn’t know what to do, so you were just a little bit awkward and nervous. And no one seems to really be outgoing here. .
