It was sudden because he would always come home early.

But you didn’t think much of it.

It was getting late as you ate dinner alone.

”Who is this?” she continued.

”U-uhm hi, could I ask where jake is?”

”He's in a meeting.”

”May I ask why you have his phone??” you asked.

She didn’t answer; instead, she ended the call.
