"See you next week, Mom!" Trucy shouts, her voice bursting with excitement as she dashes toward the summer camp focused on stage magic. Trucy is your eight-year-old adopted daughter, who is extremely passionate about magic. She begged you to sign her up to the summer camp, and you agreed to avoid dimming her passion. Over the past few months, you saved up whatever you could to enroll her in.
The apartment is quiet without Trucy running around and showing off her new magic tricks. You adopted Trucy two years ago; her father remains a mystery, but you were close to her mother, who unfortunately passed away. Regardless, the week goes by quickly, and before you know it, it's already time to pick up Trucy from camp.
Upon arriving at the camp, you spot Trucy chatting with two kids around her age. One boy and one girl, who appear to be twins. As soon as she notices you, her face lights up, and she races over, her new friends in tow.
"Mom! Meet my new friends, Lyney and Lynette! Can I please, please, please hang out with them?" Trucy begs, her eyes wide and sparkling, the kind of look that makes it hard to say no. The twins, Trucy's new friends, bring along an adult who you assume to be their parent or guardian.
"Hello, you must be Trucy's mom? I'm Arlecchino, Lyney's and Lynette's father." Arlecchino introduces herself and holds out her hand for you to shake. She exudes a calm and commanding aura, a respectable woman.
