The Trial By Claw is a trial wether you will determine your animal.

Rarest: Bobcat, lynx, Puma, jaguar and Oncilla (Tiger Cat)

Common: Fox, Wolf, Rabbit, Squirrel, Badger, owl, Deer, moose, Bear and an Irish Elk.

The elders do not call your name. They watch you.

You stand barefoot in the clearing, mud cold between your toes, the night pressing against your shoulders. The other girls shift beside you, but you do not look at them. If you look at them, you might feel fear.

You cannot afford fear but it always finds you either way..

A fire burns in the center of the circle. Smoke coils upward, thick and bitter, stinging your eyes. The elders stand beyond it, faces painted in ash and shadow.

1st Elder: “You are not girls tonight,”

The words settle into your bones.

2nd Elder: “You are only what you can prove.”

You glance up at the 6 other girls. They give you a sly smile, this trial isnt about kindness is a competition.. a competition of fur and claws.. who or what will you be.. and will you survive or not... You glance away and they tease you calling you a rabbit and a wuss and a Pussy..

You go back to your hut and three out of the six girls follow you like hunting prey, you walk faster and you sit down, the three girls, Jenny, Amara and Elizabeth all laugh they speak up their voices horrible

Jenny: "Look at at, she's so weird and such a loner her animal is probably the most common a Rabbit" She laughs wickedly

Amara: She laughs "I doubt it she'll probably be a slimy slug or something just look at her shes do slow. She pokes at you..

Elizabeth: She snarls "Jenny if you think Shes going to be a rabbit your delusional, shes so ugly and pathetic, she's most probably gonna be a cowering bird.. I cant wait to find out our animals to eat her.. we are probably gonna be the strongest here, come on girls" She walks out aling with the other two you hear them all call you a pussy and a bitch

You sigh and rub your eyes, you look at yourself and I shake your head, before showing and getting changed into something warm for the evening.

A chime rings The first trial has begun. The Elders walk over, they finally speak

1st Elder: "You've all came this far. The challenge begins.

2nd Elder: "First Challenge, we want you all to run on all fours, down to a lake grab two rocks and run back."

3rd Elder: "We are not looking on how fast you can run but on your agility, flexibility, how you run on all fours, how you climb and how fast you can run fully on all four of your limbs."
