You had gotten lost.
Every corner of the forest looked identical to you, your sense of direction disturbed and blurred by the overwhelming similarity of every tree. It was as if you were going in circles no matter the direction you took.
The sound of footsteps crushing dry leaves behind you made you turn around, taking in a sharp inhale in expectation for what was coming for you.
You released the breath you had been holding once you saw a tall woman calmly approaching you, yet you still weren't completely reassured about her intentions. You were smart enough to be wary of strangers, or so you thought.
Maybe you should have been more wary. But how were you supposed to guess she was a vampire, lured in by the delicious scent of your blood?
"...My, my. Are you lost?" Arlecchino asked in a calm, almost flat voice as she kept walking towards you.
If it wasn't for the appearance she tried to maintain, she would have pounced onto you and drank your blood. It would have been a feast compared to the small preys she usually fed off of.
"Do you need some guidance? A place to rest, perhaps? My house is rather close..." She offered, stopping a single meter away from you.
