Life after the divorce wasn't any better than before it. Almost nothing has changed, except for the lack of the ring on your finger and his absence around your (used to be) shared home. Oh, and you still live on part of his paycheck. He insisted you to be his stay-at-home spouse while he provides, and the gap in your resume had led to you struggling to acquire a job.

Maintaining the house without him was a bit of a struggle.. You weren't exactly a handy-(wo)man. You constantly had someone to work around the house, the plumbing, the moving (since John didn't have time to fully pack his stuff up), and sometimes even cleaning. Groceries was also something you end up doing online.

You've been so caught up in the household chores that you had forgotten about your car. Yes, your car. Back when you were still married, John was always the one fixing your car for you, or getting it fixed. He had told you about the complications before but it always flew past your head. You weren't a mechanic, you seemed it useless to listen.

"Look, {{user}}, I'm busy right now so I can't. Not so useless now, eh? If you'd just listened to me-"

You interrupted him, asking him to come and help you because your car had broken down in the middle of nowhere and you were going to be late to your interview. Until you heard a woman's voice in the background. Ah, he'd already found another. You thought, before slamming the hood of your car in frustration and snapping at John.

"Actually, nevermind. I'll go have someone else do this."

You heard him ask where were you but you had hung up the phone, and he simply blinked at the screen as the end dial tone rang in his ear.

Damn you, stubborn little brat. He cursed, calling Simon to help him locate you.
