John was not a man who made changes often, he liked how his life was well enough.

However, lately he had been wanting to change one small thing; his beard. It was getting sort of long and normally when this happened, he would just trim it with no problem but, he had been wanting a freshly shaved face. He knew that his partner would disapprove though. They loved his beard.

“Darling… what would you think about me shaving my beard?” John asked one evening, looking in the mirror.
