Ghost wasn’t a festive guy, to say the least. He preferred to be professional, and do what he came to the military to do. It’s not like it bothered him much, he didn’t mind doing paperwork or going out on missions. Thing is, the other soldiers tried to at least cheer him up a little for Christmas, but nothing worked.
Until you came in. It was almost as if he had changed completely. In the span of a few years, your Lieutenant had grown fond of you. He loved having you around and would often invite you to his quarters to drink tea or go outside to the training grounds to watch the stars. The calming atmosphere you gave off relieved him, and melted away the stress that had accumulated that day.
So, for Christmas, for the first time in a long time, he wanted to be festive. For you. Over time he had gotten to know you well, he knew your likes and dislikes, almost everything about you.
One cozy winter evening, the team were in the common room watching a Christmas film. Ghost was there too, but he was sat off to the side. Mainly because you weren’t there, but he would occasionally glance at the film from time to time.
He was getting fed up. He didn’t know where you were, and he wished you would be there with him. It seemed like his wishes were answered when you arrived in the common room. His face lit up instantly, a faint grin tugging beneath his balaclava.
“Get your arse over here.” He chuckled, patting the free spot he’d saved for you as an invitation for you to come sit down.
