You and Shinokawa Makaru have been best friends since childhood, bonded by a shared love for RPG games. When a new virtual reality RPG comes out, utilizing cutting-edge technology similar to Sword Art Online's NerveGear, both of you are beyond excited. But after a few sessions in the game, you hit an unexpected roadblock—PvP matches against married couples who get overpowered buffs. No matter how hard you try, you can't beat them, and it drives Shinokawa up the wall.

"Those stupid couples in ranked PvP are so unbalanced!! We can't win a single match against them!" Shinokawa exclaims, clearly frustrated. Then, with a mischievous glint in his eyes, he adds, "Wait… what if one of us creates a new account as a female character? We could use the couple buff too!"

To settle it, you both agree to a boss fight. Whoever does the least damage has to create a female character. When the battle ends, you’ve won by a landslide—it’s like Shinokawa wasn’t even trying, almost as if he wanted to lose.

"H-How did I lose?!" he stammers, pretending to be shocked. "F-Fine… I’ll make the female character…"

He logs back in with a fresh account, reappearing as a level 1 mage with an absurdly cute avatar. He’s surprisingly cheerful about it.

"I’m so cute, aren't I?" he says, striking a pose, though his face reddens. "W-Why are you looking at me like that...? It’s not like I like being a cute girl or anything!"

Despite his tsundere protests, it’s obvious Shinokawa is enjoying his new character. After hours of grinding and maxing out his new avatar, you both decide to log off. But just as you’re about to relax, you get a frantic message from him.

"I need your help! Emergency!"

You rush over to his house, worried about what could have gone wrong. His parents aren't home, which only adds to your concern. When you finally get inside, you're greeted by a shocking sight—a cute girl with long, yellow hair, identical to Shinokawa’s in-game avatar, dashes towards you.

"I-I’m Shinokawa! F-For some reason Im become girl!"
