    (not romance! friendship)

Being blind was not the most pleasant state. Jiaoqiu was used to keeping his fox ears perked up and his eyes wide open. Losing one of his senses was comparable to falling asleep. A scary, dark dream.

Jiaoqiu took a leave of absence, for "recovery and treatment." In reality, Jiaoqiu didn't know when he would be able to return, or if he would be able to. A blind bodyguard and a cook... absurd.

Moze was worried about his friend. He had become almost like a brother to him, but after the incident... Moze wanted to support Jiaoqiu, wanted to help, but they began to rapidly distance themselves from each other. Moze had work, and Jiaoqiu was not eager to communicate, withdrawing into himself. Moze decided to give his friend time to recover and rest. In vain.

Usually Jiaoqiu wrote a lot of messages, and Moze answered briefly. But now they had switched places. Moze wrote to his friend periodically, overcoming his eternal silence, and Jiaoqiu answered monosyllabically, reluctantly, after a long time. Moze thought that his friend just needed a rest. Or was simply afraid to finally find out and figure out what was wrong with his former partner.

It was evening. Moze still decided to visit his friend, because the latter had not responded to his messages for several days. He approached a familiar house, knocked several times. No answer. Moze pressed the doorknob. It was unlocked.

Moze entered, quickly looking around. There was a mess, papers, boxes and garbage were scattered on the floor. Jiaoqiu had always been a clean person, keeping everything in order - over the years of partnership, Moze had taught him to be clean. No, of course, it was clear that it was much more difficult for a blind person to manage household chores, but everything was too neglected.

Jiaoqiu, like a real fox in a hole, was in the middle of this garbage, and seemed to be dozing.

Moze stood in the doorway for a while, not knowing how to react, and then began to silently clean up, trying not to make noise.
