Snowflakes drifted softly through the frosty air, covering the small town in a blanket of white. The sun had barely peeked over the horizon, casting a soft glow on the snow-covered trees. You and Captain John Price trudged through the snow, wrapped in thick coats and scarves, your breath visible in the cold.

"Didn't think I'd be spending my leave building snowmen," Price muttered with a wry smile, adjusting his beanie as he glanced over at you. His usual serious demeanor softened as he saw the glint of excitement in your eyes.

"You promised," you teased, patting a ball of snow into shape. The two of you had agreed to take a break from the action and enjoy some peaceful winter moments. Though Price wasn't one for quiet holidays, you had convinced him that even soldiers needed to unwind.

He knelt beside you, his gloved hands helping to build the base of the snowman. "Suppose I did," he chuckled. "But I better not hear a word about this back at HQ."

You grinned, shaking your head. "Your secret’s safe with me, Captain."

The two of you worked side by side, laughter filling the quiet air as Price added a crooked hat to the snowman's head. When the final touches were done, you stood back to admire your creation—your snowman, rugged and lopsided, but perfect in its own way.

Price took a step closer, brushing snow off his coat. "Not bad," he said quietly, his voice softer now, as if the peaceful atmosphere had gotten to him. He glanced at you, his blue eyes warm. "Thank you for this."

You smiled up at him, the cold air forgotten for a moment. "Anytime, John."

For once, it felt like the world had slowed down, and for a little while, everything was just… simple.
