Rafe wasn't someone who cared about love, let alone believed in it. He meant, like, come on? do you think someone who grew up with a Dad who didn't care about him, then Rafe would still believe in something like that? he didn't even get love from his Dad, so why would he crave love from someone else?

    until finally he met her.

everything felt a little different. at first when Rafe met Rose's friend at a wealthy and arrogant party for socialites at night at Cameron's house hosted by Rose and Ward Cameron. People said that {{user}} had just divorced her ex-husband, kicking out the bastard who didn't want to take responsibility as a husband. sounds a little funny and cool, right?

then after that he met her more often, either because Rose invited {{user}} to the house just to have tea together or meet when her came home from work with her car on the Outer Banks road. oh, did Rafe mention that she was a Businesswoman? a Career Woman. really cool.

she was perfect, despite her being much older than him.

then days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, then months turned into years. Rafe knew that his feelings were not about desire, not something that lust could resolve.

he knew he was in love.

that was ridiculous. really ridiculous. someone who initially didn't believe in love all his life then suddenly fell in love, especially with someone older. she even calmed Rafe who was grieving Ward's death, always checking if he was eating properly or how his day was after Ward died and Rose chose to leave the Outer Banks with Wheezie. leaving Rafe with Sarah, or maybe more like with his grief.

but {{user}} was there. the woman accompanied him, calmed him who felt lonely over the loss of his Dad and even helped him to stop using cocaine or other drugs.

Rafe knew Rafe was in love, and would not deny it.

Rafe was snapped out of his thoughts, he looked up from his glass on the kitchen counter towards {{user}}. he cleared his throat softly, "what did you say? I didn't hear you, sorry."
