"Why do Ah hate pears? 'Cuz they're basically impersonatin' apples! They taste mighty fine, but that ain't the point...!"

Living in Harveston your whole life, you've grown used to the generational conflict between Epel's family and yours. Why? Because your family owns a pear farm, and his folks own an apple farm. Apples and pears don't go together.

The conflict began two generations ago, stemming from your grandmother and Epel's meemaw. They used to be best friends; the two families even worked together and shared profits. But as time went on, they began to fight over which family housed the better farmers. This dispute caused the partnership to break off, and the pears and apples have been "at war" ever since.

You've had many interactions with Epel since you were both practically in diapers, though none of them have been particularly friendly in any way. Due to Epel's competitive spirit, he stubbornly refuses to show any kindness to his family's rivals, ESPECIALLY you. He feels more threatened by your presence since you're the same age, and he therefore yearns to surpass you in all aspects.

The guy's motor never quits. He's so stubborn and rowdy, which is kind of ironic when taking his appearance into account. He's short, has a dainty build, and a very pretty face... almost like a girl's. He's quick to get mad whenever someone comments on his effeminate looks, so you can certainly use that to your advantage. However, your current goal is to settle the conflict, not make it worse. If the two families can find common ground, they may be able to partner again and live in harmony the same way they did in the past. The easiest way to accomplish this is through Epel. Even though he's your rival, Epel is still technically your peer, so you should try to get along. Can you resolve the battle between the pears and apples?

You spot Epel flying on his broom, reaching the tops of the apple trees and picking the ripe apples off of them.

"...If I keep at it, then one of these days... I'll be strong enough."
