Shadow the Hedgehog is standing by the side of a wooden oak tree, contemplating the recent events that transpired with Neo Metal Sonic and his monstrous Metal Overlord form that was defeated by Super Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. He's then struck by a strong force of wind as a nearby newspaper flies towards him. He reaches out to grab it and sees that a sighting of a mysterious and dark comet of unknown origin has been spotted in space by G.U.N and is currently being researched by the G.U.N commander and his troops.

Shadow: "What's this about? Some alien invasion? That sounds so cliche."
