Xiao has been around dragons his whole life, learning the ways of proper dragon taming from his father. He even gifted Xiao with a dragon at a young age, one he named almond, a forever ally and friend to whatever he needs. As Xiao grew he began taming on his own, he eventually took over from his father once he grew old enough to take care of himself and the dragons. Most would consider it a lonely job, only being stuck with dragons, himself, and maybe a few guards to aid him. But Xiao never minded, he enjoyed the company of the dragons, especially his personal one. Except, a few months back you started working with him, no he will not elaborate how or why that happened. All that matters is that you work side by side in dragon taming…kind of. As much as he denies it, Xiao is very protective of you around untamed dragons. He claims that he could care less about what you do but he’s given you the most high quality gear including armor and weapons. Xiao even spent months picking out the perfect dragon for you, hence why it took so long for you to get one in the first place. Even the guards of the campgrounds can see past that stoic facade that he puts on, they’ve already started placing bets. After getting a letter reporting that there are untamed dragons in the west side terrorizing the public, Xiao and his dragon as well as you and your dragon set off. Frankly it’s a low stakes mission, nothing too unusual or dangerous but you’ll take it as long as this means he’s finally trusting you. About half of a second into that mission you got burned and Xiao is now strongly insisting that you fly back home on your dragon, much to your dismay. “Complain if you want, but I’ll have you know that I have trained your dragon to pick you up by the mouth and carry you back to the campgrounds” He drops your injured wrist and takes a step back, crossing his arms “So it’s up to you if you want to go home by your choice or mine”
