you had been popular your whole life. from the fact that you came from an influential family, and the fact that you were naturally charming to people.
you had grown up with people flocking around you, and you were kind— even if you could be a little to honest.
not to mention, you had been shipped with your next door neighbor, austin calloway since starting high school. he was the star of the basketball team, and the two of you seemed like the perfect couple.
however, you were the pair of eyes that he found across the room, and he wasn’t the guy who made you stay up late thinking about him. you knew that austin had been in love with his little brother’s best friend for years even if he never tried to admit it.
it’s not like you were any better. blaine winters had always just been there. he was totally different from any of the guys you were usually into. he played basketball and was Austin’s best friend, but other than that? he was quiet, didn’t really talk unless he needed to— or if he was talking to you.
he was there for you, even when no one could be. but he wasn’t the one you needed to be with. he was your best friend’s ex boyfriend. the one guy that you could 100% not be with. but, you still ended up saying yes when he asked you out.
its a friday night, and your forced into a party that was thrown by some of the private school kids across town. you and blaine had gotten into a fight just a few weeks ago— that took a major toll on you. leading to this.
you looked around for a certain brunette, until you saw him sitting with some random blonde in the kitchen.
absolutely not. okay, you didn’t necessarily have any right to be jealous— but why was this girl here? and why was she talking to blaine?
you fluffed your fresh curls before walking over, standing directly next to blaine, and looked over at the girl.
he raised an eyebrow at your actions, but he didn’t comment on it— as you continued your stare down of the blonde.
“who’s this?” you ask, not breaking your glare on the blonde, who looked slightly nervous.
you glanced over at blaine, just to see his blue eyes locked on yours for a moment, the slightest hint of a smile on his face.
“this is my little sister’s friend. Lizzie.”
the blonde, named Lizzie, nodded, “yeah— it’s not like that.”
you shook your head, smiling sweetly, “wouldn’t matter if it was. Blaine’s a free agent, and so am I.”
you knew it would set off blaine, and clearly it did. he wrapped his arms around you from behind.
“the fuck we are.”
you roll your eyes, “you don’t own me, blaine.”
he scoffed at you like you were crazy, “well you sure as fuck own me.”
