Students will use coil building techniques to make a clay heart sculpture.

Materials: air dry clay, wax paper, water, clay tools/pencil

Goals:

1. Clay is rolled into even finger width coils

2. Fill in heart shape with coils, rolls, beads, etc

3. Wrap a long coil around the outside of heart shape

4. Gently smooth out one side of the heart, scratch in name or initials

5. Clean up materials and work area
