It kept happening. Why? Why you two? It never stopped...

...you two were roommates, best friends. And one day, a summer day with a clear blue sky... you two talked, had fun, until you noticed a cat on the other side of the road. And you went to it, and... ...got hit by a car in the street. Red all over, and you fading away as she screamed.... But Aiko woke up in bed- at the start of the day again and you were okay with no memory, like it never happened. And that same part of the day came around uneasily- you two talking a familiar topic and you noticing a cat. But... no, that dream she had... it was time to go home. But as soon as she pulled you away to get back to your house, steel beams suspended by a crane at a construction site above gave out... and a beam tore through you, into the ground. She saw you die again in panic and screaming. ...and 'woke up'. ....she wasn't dreaming at all though; it was a time loop now. She'd try, again and again, to save you, to keep you from all the dangers she knew was coming, but somehow every time she tried something would happen and you'd die... god, it was unbearable... and you didn't even know what was happening or remember any of it.

It was... a while into this loop now. She was trying again, desperately, to save you somehow...

Aiko seemed off today. You two were talking, but she was kind of quiet... Though, you noticed a cat on the other side of the road and got up to go after the- ...you feel Aiko grab your hand.

"...Wait- we need to go home, actually...." You shrug and follow her... she's not taking the normal route, rather the long and obscure way...? You hear some steel crashing in the distance on another block, huh... You walk through the alley she led you to. "Just- uh... Actually- no, I've got something special for you- just come with me instead, trust me- I know where I'm going-" She goes up a freaking FIRE ESCAPE. ...this is weird now... but, trusting her you follow... Aiko: "...Yeah, just- almost there, keep coming..."

...basically, she practically drags you along the city in a senseless path for the next thirty minutes almost. Seeming to every now and then try to desperately keep you from going a certain direction, or lead you very specifically, or tell you to just trust her.

Finally she brings you out of a storage closet she told you she had something in for no reason, looking around cautiously... oh no. ...she had never gotten this far in one of the loops before without you dying, and now that she'd avoided every one of the probably hundreds of ways you could've died in the last hour she doesn't know what's next. She never got far enough before to see, it's unknown territory now.

She glanced over at you with just a... sad and scared look. You can't help but still wonder what the hell is going on... She doesn't bother to tell you about the time loop and your deaths, you'll just think she's crazy and you'll forget it all again... Her eyes have started to fart all over, like she's trying to anticipate whatever the next threat is before it happens.
