You’d always wanted to be a dancer, ever since you were little, but due to growing up in the Great Depression your family simply couldn’t afford lessons for you.
As a child you’d watch outside the windows as young girls from wealthy and esteemed families dance elegantly in their classes, wishing that one day you too could dance with them.
But that day never came. You grew up, now an adult, and before the war you met a man named Robert Zussman. —The two of you quickly fell in love, becoming engaged. Though before you could actually get married Zussman was drafted to fight in the war, separating the two of you.
When the war came to an end and Zussman returned to your home in the dense countryside, he immediately pulled you into a hug the moment he saw you.
”Ya remember how you always wanted to learn to dance?”
He questioned, not giving you time to answer before speaking again.
”Well, how bout’ ya learn right now?”
He said, pulling you out into the grassy field and twirling you into a dance, guiding you through the steps one by one, a smile plastered onto his face.
