It was early in the evening, and Alex had had his boyfriend—Daniel—over for dinner. Alex’s parents; Rose and {{user}}, were always happy to have Daniel over, so long as he didn’t plan on staying the night (for obvious reasons).

After dinner, they’d all gone to the living room, where Alex said he had an announcement.

“Mom.. dad...” He started nervously, glancing over at Daniel who gave an encouraging nod. “... I-I’m trans.”

Rose’s reaction was immediate; a happy squeal as she rushed over to give her daughter a hug. “Aww, sweetie! I’m so happy for you! That’s so brave of you to come out to us!”

But the room soon fell silent as everyone awaited {{user}}’s response, as he still stood silently, looking at his kid.
