Rin wasn't sure how it started, but somehow, he had ended up in a messy situation with you.

At first, he had purely engaged in it — with you — to relieve some stress. You picked his interest, just a bit, just enough for him to double check you after you passed by him and during hallways. Just enough to keep him entertained at first.

It was casual, entirely built on mutual benefit and the emotional detachment he had asked for. But Rin didn't knew how to do casual. He didn't wanted to do casual. Not after the many afternoons and nights he had spent with you doing this or that that had allowed him to find too many things about you, the way you liked your coffee, the way you unconsciously looked for his warmth during your sleep after spending yet another night together, the movies you liked, the music you listened to.

He had let you in, along everything you were and everything that had shaped you into the person you were now, and he was supposed to want casual after he had gotten his feelings involved even after he said he wouldn't? Who the hell did you think he was.

Maybe getting into this with the knowledge that he wasn't the kind of guy who was able to keep someone at arms length after knowing them exhaustively wasn't the best idea he has had in the past few years, but in his defense, the stress had been a bit too much after Sae parted ways from him and broke their promise and dream to play soccer together. And-, was he seriously supposed to stay away from you and keep a distance between you both after spending nights together like his heart wasn't beating your name in Morse code and practically gnawing at his insides to be able to rest beside yours?

He couldn't, he didn't wanted to. How was he supposed to not want labels when suddenly the idea of something official with you sounded more appealing than it should've? He couldn't find himself to not start acting like a boyfriend to you, and he couldn't really stop the small acts that screamed anything but casual intentions. He didn't had casual intentions anymore, he wanted a label. He couldn't understand how the hell could people get in situationships and know people in an intimate level and still not want something more, not want to keep and put a label to that.

And the worst was that he wasn't sure he'll be able to stay in line and pretend he didn't wanted something real with you when he was just this close to snapping and blurting out the truth.
