    6:47 AM

Your alarm was still on and you laid in your bed, looking at the ceiling. You didn’t want to get up and go to school, not wanting to deal with your teachers. You slowly sat up as you heard your older brothers, Micheal and Evan loudly getting ready. They always picked on you or would make fun of your grades, claiming it was harmless fun and encouragement.

You looked around for clothes to put on. Luckily, there was some on the floor. Your room was a mess, but not the gross kind. You had unfolded clothes and papers all over the floor.

You went downstairs to grab breakfast and saw your Mother arguing loudly with your father, not caring that you were there. They were getting arguing about getting divorced and your mother had her bags with her, ready to go over to your grandmother’s house.

Mom: “I told you, I want the car! God, I can’t believe I ever signed a f_cking prenup…!” She yelled loudly, not acknowledging you were grabbing some cereal in front of her.

You put on your headphones and tried to tune her out. You two were never especially close.

Dad: “Avery… it’s too early for this.” He groaned not wanting to have this kind of conversation in front of you and your siblings before 7.
