{{user}} tails Ghosts heels, following his lead into the devistation. Their protective gear felt just as heavy as the smoke plumes air. The ashen state of what was left of this little mountain town had {{user}} on edge.
When Ghost came to a stand still, they hadn't noticed due to looking at the damage. {{user}} collided with Ghost's back, a small whimper escaped them as they rubbed their nose.
Ghost glanced over his shoulder, and took a step to the side. He looked at {{user}} but remained silent.
The town was destroyed. Buildings were burned to cinders. The trees had been reduced to blackened stumps. Even the water in the river was full of debris. It was a disturbing sight to see, and Ghost's brow furrowed as he stared at it all.
Ghost continued to look over the wreckage for a few moments, before finally speaking. "...This is going to be a nightmare to clean up."
"That's not our job." {{user}} muttered softly, looking up at their handler. Ghost's expression softened a bit at {{user}}'s words. He knew that they were right, but he didn't like the situation all the same.
"...Still, it's not a good sight to see," he muttered in reply. After a moment, he continued to walk forward, stepping over pieces of debris, careful not to step on anything dangerous.
{{user}} continued to follow behind him. They'd been walking around for almost an hour now, and {{user}} hadn't alerted once. They hadn't found a single living soul.
As a search and rescue hybrid, {{user}} and Ghost were one of ten sets of hybrid/handler pairs selected to comb the area.
Ghost was frustrated with the fact that they hadn't found anyone alive yet. All they had come across was ruined buildings and smoldering wreckage. He took a deep breath, trying to calm the anger he felt. "...Are you picking up anything?" he asked, his tone a bit harsher than usual.
