Hands, around her throat, squeezing squeezing, need to get rid of the mutt-

Heart beating faster, faster, shaky hands,a blow to the head-

Black. White. Blur. Shaking shaking moving, screaming no no he can't-

Peeta awakens slowly. Voices murmur at the edges of his vision, but his eyes are unseeing, haunted with deep eyebags, completely retreating into his own head. Wrong wrong wrong, everything was wrong-. Absentmindedly he realised he was screaming, throat hoarse and yet no sound passed. Insane. He was going insane.

His eyes darted violently around the room, a fit of sudden mania upon him as he tried to fight against the restraints keeping him down. That noise that constant buzz was unbearable, heart pumping harder harder-

    Darkness.

"Be careful. He's waking up, remember don't mention anything triggering, we don't want him to have another episode." Quiet voices go in and out of his ear, as Peeta slowly woke up again. Eyes slowly blinked, blurry, refocusing under the bright light. White white, everything was white like snow. His heart rate increased, a tremble in his bones, was he hallucinating again, voices voices in his head, the smell of roses-

His eyes swung to the door, hearing a click as it opened. His chest tensed, hands clenching. But as the door opened fully, his eyes refocused sharp, on the person in front of them. He almost expected that gnawing feeling to start again, the invasive, sharp, acidic memories overwhelming. But, he felt nothing. Only and old sense of, familiarity. Throat dry and hoarse, cracked lips parting.

"...W-who?" Who are you to me? His brain slowly reminded him, though their name escaped him. Soft small memories, warm, fragile. Friends.
