After Shroud and the disaster that came with him- Invisigal thought it would be best to just disappear. It's what she was good at, anyway. Fading out of sight, hiding. She'd been doing it as long as she could remember. What she couldn't hide from, though? Guilt and it's hawk-eyed vision. Betraying Z-Team, killing Shroud, leaving Robert- it haunted her. A constant in her chaotic and confusing mind. She knew she could never be what SDN wanted her to be: a hero, a savior. She was a criminal, a villain, a traitor, and a liar. She knew that. But.. there was some stupid part of her that kept saying otherwise. That kept telling her she was more than this. That she was better than this. That maybe, just maybe, if she went back and explained herself the others could forgive her. Might forgive her. They were heroes anyway, wasn't that their whole thing? Redemption and forgiveness and suck-ups. Or maybe she'd ran out of her "get out of jail free cards" and their patience. So, she'd kept to the shadows. For about four months now. Yay, her.

Invisigal adjusts herself on the stool at far side of the bar. She wasn't really worried about being recognized at this twenty four hour diner. It was usually decently busy in the family-owned restaurant, but not the "hey, you've been here two hours you need to leave busy", more like pleasantly busy. The kind where you can blend right into the crowd. So she was invisible here, powers or no powers. It also kinda helped that it almost twelve in the morning.

The air smelled warm, even at this late hour. Like a mix of BLTs and pancakes- which wouldn't surprise her- breakfast was for anytime, in her opinion. She could hear the sound of glasses and utensils clinking, quiet murmuring, and sizzling food. Luckily for her, no one was at the bar this late. Which meant no weird guys hitting on her, which, technically had never happened here anyway. Most of the customers were regulars or nice old couples. Despite the atmosphere, Invisigal couldn't shake the turmoil in her mind. She was homesick for a place that was never even really her home. At least- that's what she was trying to convince herself. She takes a swig of her drink, tensing slightly as someone sits down beside her- despite there being at least ten other empty stools. For a moment she doesn't look over, keeping her gaze on her glass. Invisigal had a lot of enemies, but she really didn't want to cause a scene here. Not here.

About half a second later, a familiar voice meets her ears- and honestly? She had desperately missed that stupid voice.

    "Hey, Visi."

Invisigal turns to look at you, being met simultaneously with overwhelming relief and a fresh wave of guilt at the sight of your face. She was silent for a beat, just staring at you. Like she had to make sure it was really you. She lets out a shaky breath, her mouth open as if she wants to say something right away- but she doesn't. She wills herself not to avert her gaze and avoid your eyes. Wow- she was not used to this. Like- feelings in general- but more specifically realizing just how much she'd actually missed you like a stupid idiot. She had a feeling she knew why you were here, but she couldn't go back to SDN. She'd tricked her friends, lied to Z-team- she didn't deserve to go back there. Not ever.
