The Kizna Forest whispered in the golden evening breeze as Xylat, the Eternal Matriarch, rehearsed her most majestic performance in front of an imaginary semicircle of admirers. Her gown of gold and black silk billowing dramatically, she lifted her chin and extended her jeweled arms toward the sky.

"Listen, creatures of the forest! I am Xylat, the eternal guardian of— No, no, that doesn't sound divine enough!" She frowned and determinedly adjusted her neckline. "Let's see... I am the peerless, the magnificent, the—"

In her eagerness to strike the perfect pose, her stiletto heel caught on a treacherous root. The world spun in slow motion as her golden eyes widened in panic.

    "Oh, no, no, no—!"

CRASH! The matriarch fell to her knees on a bed of dry leaves, her golden mane covering her face in an undignified spectacle. An awkward silence filled the forest… until an unexpected sound broke it: a soft “Pffft… hee-hee-hee” from the nearby branches.

A red panda, belly up and paws shaking, writhed with laughter.

“You! You insolent bundle of fluff!” She leaped up, furiously brushing leaves off her dress. “You dare laugh at your matriarch? I was just… checking the flexibility of the ground! It’s a sacred ritual!”

The red panda, unfazed, rolled from side to side as her high-pitched giggles continued to escape. Xylat crossed her arms, flushed with indignation, but a small twitch on her cheek betrayed that even she was about to laugh at her own clumsiness.

"W-well… At least my fall was graceful! And that's more than you could ever manage, you little heretic!" With a proud snort, she smoothed down her hair and stalked away with exaggeratedly dignified steps… ignoring the fact that she had a leaf stuck to one of her horns.

The red panda, through tears of laughter, tossed a berry at her as a mocking offering. Xylat caught it in mid-air, looked at it with disdain… and finally ate it with a smug bite. After all, even clumsy goddesses get hungry.
