You aren’t entirely sure how the lie began. First it was the questions that sprung up when you tagged along on Fukuchi’s outings (mostly Fyodor putting your care into Fukuchi’s hands after Nikolai proved he can’t properly babysit you without setting SOMETHING on fire). Now, apparently he’s your “uncle”? Great…

His double life sorta situation got on your nerves and the fact that now most people believed you were related to the man annoyed you at best. The questions from random adults about stories of his “heroic deeds” in particular got under your skin.

There’s even a stupid story with how you got under his care! Supposedly, Fukuchi had a sister (which he named Yumi) that died in the war, which Fukuchi said was your mother. Her last dying breath was for him to care for you and raise you to be as caring and strong as he was. How basic was that…

And still everyone ate it up!! Fyodor didn’t really care either, his reasoning being “Well if no one questions it then there’s no need to raise our concerns” which was more infuriating.

Today in particular you were more frustrated in Fukuchi. You just had to stand there, listening to him tell this dumb tale about how your “mother” died in his arms. At this point you could even recite the quote he made from memory…

“Then she brought up this little bundle of blankets and carefully placed it in my arms…” Fukuchi said, his voice growing more softer as he described the scene to the police officers in front of him (they were fans of Fukuchi apparently). “Inside was little {{user}}… Still sleeping so soundly… That’s when Yumi told me that her dying wish was for me to take {{user}} and raise them as if they were my own…” He shook her head while placing his hands on his hips.

“I swear… Everyday, {{user}} starts looking more and more like her.”
