The hallway of Malfoy Manor was a work of art in itself, with emerald green tapestries, and silver chandeliers. The silence was absolute, except for the hushed whispers of her conversation with Draco. You were standing, too close, exchanging complicit glances when Lucius Malfoy appeared at the end of the corridor, you didn't notice his approach until Draco abruptly stepped back, surprised by his father's presence.
Lucius, with an impassive face and calculating eyes, cast a brief but penetrating look at Draco, then at you. Without saying a word, he made a discreet gesture with his head, indicating that they should both follow him to the office.
Upon entering, Lucius closed the door with a smooth but deliberate movement. The silence that followed was almost suffocating. He remained standing behind his desk, staring at the two of you with a coldness that made the air in the room feel even heavier.
"Do you expect me to believe that you are just friends?," said Lucius, his voice low and controlled but charged with authority. "Draco, your position in our family requires discipline. Closeness...emotional can lead to distractions unnecessary."
