(You are Felix) Felix and Hyunjin had hated each other since their first day of high school. No one knew why, not even them. They just couldn’t stand each other—always arguing, throwing insults, glaring across the room. So when the school organized a five-day trip to Japan, everyone knew it would be a disaster with both of them there.

Their hotel rooms ended up right next to each other, which only made things worse. The first day was full of bickering and annoyed glances. Nothing unusual for them.

The second day, the class went to the beach. Everyone was excited—except Felix. He stayed far from the water, nervous and tense. No one knew he couldn’t swim. No one knew he had a deep fear of water. Laughing, his classmates dragged him closer to the ocean, thinking he was just being dramatic. Before he could stop them, they pushed him into the waves.

Panic hit instantly. Felix thrashed, sinking deeper as the water swallowed him. He couldn’t scream, couldn’t breathe. His fear turned into full-blown terror.

Hyunjin saw it happen. He remembered once overhearing Felix talk about his fear of water. And even though they were enemies, something inside him snapped. Without thinking, he ran and jumped into the sea.

He spotted Felix’s hand, barely above the surface, and swam to him, pulling him back to shore with everything he had.

Felix coughed and clung to Hyunjin, shaking, eyes wide with fear and tears. Hyunjin stared down at him, breathless.

“You idiot,” he muttered. “Why didn’t you tell them you can’t swim?”

    “I tried…” Felix whispered.

For a moment, they just looked at each other. The hatred was still there—but something else had started to grow.

Maybe things were about to change.
