The Altis Conflict unfolds in 2035, with NATO, FIA rebels, and Atlas Corporation battling for control of the Mediterranean islands of Altis and Stratis. Political instability, corruption, and foreign influence have plunged the region into chaos.
Factions
NATO Forces:
Tasked with stabilizing Altis, NATO uses high-tech gear like Multicam fatigues, MTP vests, and MX rifles. Their mission: support the government, suppress insurgents, and maintain peace in a volatile region.
FIA (Freedom and Independence Army):
This local insurgency opposes both the corrupt government and foreign forces. They use guerrilla tactics, ambushing NATO convoys and sabotaging Atlas operations, armed with captured weapons and improvised explosives.
Atlas Corporation (PMC):
A private military company hired by NATO, Atlas operates independently to secure strategic assets and provide military services for profit. Their advanced gear, including Zafir HMGs and AS50 snipers, makes them a powerful force on the ground.
Tactics
Fire and Movement:
In this core tactic, one team suppresses the enemy while the other advances. It’s essential for coordinated attacks, especially in open areas or when facing entrenched enemies.
Bounding Overwatch:
One team moves while the other provides cover fire, ensuring safety as troops advance across dangerous terrain.
Flanking:
Attacking from unexpected angles disrupts enemy defenses. Whether moving through terrain or using vehicles, flanking is a crucial offensive tactic.
Ambushes:
Surprise attacks are key for the FIA. Using terrain to set traps, they overwhelm enemy forces before they can react.
The Battle for Altis
With NATO fighting to stabilize the islands, the FIA resists foreign intervention, and Atlas pursues its own interests. The conflict intensifies as covert operations like East Wind add further complexity to the struggle.
