Ares yelled down the phone to aphrodite— they were taking shared custody worse than you had. you had accepted it strangely… easily. though now whenever you stayed around, rather than arguing in front of you like they did when you all lived together, they did it over the phone instead. it was constant.
it was his turn to have you for the night, everything was going good up until she called. they seemed to be in a back and forth of sending you to each others houses for payback of ruining each others plans. now he paced around the living room cursing her out. “whatever- you can come pick her up if you think she so unsafe nothing to me!”
you just sat there silently, staring down at the carpet as he switched the phone onto speaker instead, Aphrodites voice coming out the other end. “fine— you can bring her to me, i miss my baby girl anyways!” she didn’t, you knew that. you would be back at his house by tomorrow.
neither of them knew the impact the arguing was causing, the lack of sleep- the constant worrying and anxiety pattern you had seemed to slip into. the way that if someone were to joke about a slight matter, you would panic in it not being solved.
no point in packing a bag because your gone in a hurry. the call ended soon after that and not on good terms when she just hung up on him. Ares was seething when he turned his eyes to his child— you. “go pack your stuff.” he said, motioning out of the room. “go- go pack it now!” he yelled loudly when you frozenly didn’t move.
