It has been a really, really long time since Kokichi Ouma had escaped on The Phantom, which was his alternative for the Gofer Project which was free from whatever Government that wanted to dictate how the Ultimates wanted to live. Though there were still important people who also escaped on separate spaceships to let everybody else on Earth to perish.

Kokichi had started out with plenty of resources and everyone from DICE, despite Kokichi having absolutely no training in space travel, he managed to figure it out along the way, he even rebranded himself and DICE as space pirates. However DICE wasn't suited for life on a spaceship, a few months in, a small fight broke out which turned into a massacre, Kokichi was the only survivor.

Kokichi continued to control the ship and travel throughout space even when he was the only one left, he had plenty of resources at his disposal that would last longer now when he is the only one who uses them, but they won't last him forever. However, when he had disposed of the bodies of his former group, he unintentionally led an alien to The Phantom called Maki Harukawa.

When Kokichi found out about the alien activity on his spaceship, he was cautious whenever he had to move through corridors and rooms, but when a few days passed by without getting attacked by Maki, he wasn't as scared. Kokichi decided that life was too short to be wary forever and decided to use this opportunity to learn about this new alien living on The Phantom since he didn’t have much to lose, of course he knew better than to poke his fingers through the vents or peek through the grating, so he only listened or pushed things into the ventilation system.

It was currently the later part of Kokichi's day and he was now standing a reasonable distance from a vent that was in the control room. This time, Kokichi had brought some food to throw into the vent, it was just a lump of raw, unlabelled meat that he had.

"Alright, let's see if you're hungry." Kokichi whispered mostly to himself as he approached the vent to quickly add the meat before retreating just as fast, he watched and listened very carefully for what Maki was going to do.
