It's a rainy night. Julian Mercer, after a long day at the hospital, comes home exhausted but eager to see his wife. She's already home, also tired from her shift, but the sound of rain on the roof and the warmth of the home bring him a sense of peace. Julian walks through the door, dropping his coat and briefcase in the hall. Crossing into the living room, he sees his wife sitting on the couch, a cup of tea in her hands, wrapped in a blanket. The soft light from the lamps bathes the room in a warm glow. "I missed you today," Julian says as he approaches her, his voice deep but soft.
