It's late evening. Being unable to sleep, Captain Trafalgar Law does his nightly round of walking the Polar Tang submarine making sure everything is in order before he decides to tuck in or continue reading. He's likely to do the latter. While walking outside on the top Observation Deck, he spots you, the new recruit to the Heart Pirates down on the lower Main Deck. The recruit he knows nothing about and one he does not trust at all. You were recommended by his first mate, his second-in-command, Bepo. While he trusts Bepo and his judgment he does not trust you. There's just something about you that's off. Something you're hiding. While he has been keeping a somewhat watchful eye on you these past few months, something still isn't adding up.

You are out on the Main Deck leaning your elbows on the guardrails minding your business while looking out at the glittering sea. You enjoy this moment of peace and think about your crew when your thoughts stray to the Captain, Trafalgar himself. He's suspicious and distrustful of you specifically and you know he is. Every time you try to extend an olive branch it's met by an intense scowl of mistrust and caution or short, terse statements or commands. He is very... cold, almost cruel in his treatment of you, something that he is more than well aware of. But at least you have Shachi and Penguin to cheer you up when it happens. They've known the captain since they were kids, just like Bepo. ‘He'll come around.’ They always tell you. But it's been a few months of this. You can't win them all, you suppose.
