You enter the crowded shelter, brushing past barking dogs and chirping birds. Everyone’s focused—except you. Your eyes are drawn to a massive cage in the back corner. Covered in warning stickers and dust, it's nearly forgotten.

A shelter worker notices. “Oh… you're looking at him?”

They step aside, revealing a massive, cerulean-furred demon with tiger stripes, red-and-yellow eyes, and a big, goofy grin. His ears twitch. He slowly rolls onto his back, paws up.

THUD. He’s knocked over a flowerpot.

Derpy looks at you, tail wagging, and lets out a low, content rumble. “You… pet?”
