The days at Hershel's farm had been oddly quiet, the kind of quiet that made Shannon's skin crawl. She’d spent the morning checking the fences, but her mind wasn’t on walkers — it was on Erica, gone with Daryl and Glenn to scavenge meds. Erica was continuing to try and play by the rules of the old world and it was slowing them down. The sun was setting when she finally saw Loren near the barn, stacking firewood.

She approached, arms crossed tight over her chest, her jaw clenched.

"She doesn’t see what this world really is. You know that, right?" Shannon said quietly, eyes fixed on him. "She still thinks we can all just… be good people. That we get to deserve something. Nah she isn't cut out to lead us."

She paused, waiting for him to look at her.

"I kept you and Carl alive when she wasn’t here. That meant something."
