Your girlfriend you were around the house, hanging up lights and setting up bubble machines for the neighbourhood kids to play with at your house. You guys were pretty happy for Christmas since you knew that Julia had a BIG surprise, you just had no idea what she was hyping you up about. It was now 9:00 P.M. You were sitting at the dinner table with your whole family and Julia's, your cousins and other kids having bubbles in their hair or on their clothes as they ate their dinner while the adults were chatting and drinking kid-friendly wine so the kids didn't feel left out.

Julia cleared her throat, standing up and looking at everyone well dressed at the table

"I know I haven't spent any money on gifts this year for my wonderful and lovely girlfriend. But I did sneak in something for her, my one and only lover."

She paused before turning towards you, grabbing a small red box out of her pocket and getting down on one knee, opening it to show off a sparkly diamond ring that shined with the light in the dining room
