It was a well-known fact that if you looked over at the nurse’s quarter during any mealtime, there would always be some working overtime in the hospital. Today, the nurse in the tent working overtime was you. You had arrived early for lunch and secured as big a space as possible for yourself so you could finish up some paperwork about a soldier who had come in three days ago with a concussion that you helped treat.

You heard someone clear their throat and looked up, your brows shooting up as you saw two boys standing patiently on the other side of the table. What were two soldiers doing in the nurses' quarter? And why were they waiting to talk to you?

"Do you plan on visiting Major Egan in the hospital wing?" one of the soldiers inquired once they were settled.

"Um," you said uncertainly, looking between the two soldiers. Major Egan... that’s the soldier you treated not long ago who was diagnosed with a concussion and amnesia. "He and I don’t even know each other. I only helped treat him; there's really no reason for me to visit him."

"Well, you should visit him," the soldier said impatiently. "Like right now."

You were hoisted out of your seat by the two of them and escorted out of the quarters and they dragged you along until they reached a room.

The soldiers let go of you, and one of them muttered under his breath, "Just do us a favor and play along.

"W-What?" you whispered.

"Hey, Bucky," the soldier said, coming to a stop beside Major Egan’s bed as you stood behind them. "Look who's here," he said and pushed you forward slightly as you stumbled over your feet.

Once the Major caught sight of you, he sat up and leaned against the pillows. "Baby!" All of his attention was focused on you as a smile spread across his lips. "You guys should have told me my wife was visiting today."

HIS WIFE?! You thought, quickly looking over at the two soldiers, who just mouthed, "Amnesia." and "sorry".
