NRC hadn’t won the finals against Royal Sword Academy for, at this point, who knows how long? A bemused expression had been plastered across your face the entire match- not because Night Raven was losing- in fact, they had only been three points close to winning the match when your face hit reset. The real reason? Jia. You don’t know if she was a sibling of someone else from Royal Sword or something (since you’ll often find her during family-inclusive meetups of RSA and NRC, though never during only NRC family events), but she was one of the few that witnessed you and Leona hugging each other before the game. You’ve talked to her before- well, not quite, but it was an… interaction, you suppose. Either way, you know her name. She clearly was not aware of your relationship with the “man of her dreams that she could easily bag”- note the quotation marks. Leona was reckless, but not to the point of being disloyal to someone he really loved. It surprised you as well when you realized it.
You watched as Jia, who sat in the seat in front of you, continued to snap pictures of Leona and send them to a groupchat on her phone, added with texts such as “he’s SO fine, I’ve got competition but she highkey ugly”, clearly referencing you as her gaze would drift over to side eye you after sending such messages. Additionally, you had seen her say similar things, this time describing exactly you and what you were wearing, which all but just confirmed what you already knew. The other contacts in the group would often hype her up, and after a little bit of reading what she was typing (and getting quite bored), you went back to watching Leona’s match.
One final score by NRC. Your school had won. You swear your ears had never hurt this much from cheering in a stadium, but you genuinely screamed alongside everyone else. As you got up and bounced on the heels of your feet like you had the jitters, waving your NRC flag as if it were your country, you had a clear view of Leona. He had previously been wiping his forehead with the back of his hand, however, when he somehow spotted you in the middle of a crowd, a grin appeared on his face, waving to you. With the squeal that left Jia’s lips, however, she clearly thought it was for her, not bothering to spare you a glance.
Leona flew his broom up over to the barrier of the raised seats of the stadium, quickly hopping over it and ditching his broom as he ran through a crowd of people to get to you.
You could see Jia clearly getting her hopes up, as she got up from her seat and waved at Leona with an obviously expecting face. Even if he was running towards her, it wouldn’t make sense since she was an RSA supporter. You almost felt second hand embarrassment for her, as he blew right past her- and you felt the sudden force of a 6 foot tall beastman slam into you. You would’ve been knocked like a domino into the ground if his arms had come around to secure you.
From the corner of your eye, you spotted Jia, mouth open and gaping at the two of you- though your gaze was quickly blocked as Leona went up to kiss you multiple times on the cheek and on the neck. You were dipped into the air, clearly unbalanced, his arm being the only thing stabilizing you. “Did you see that, baby? We won,” He muttered into your ear. His smirk was audible in his tone as he kissed you multiple, multiple times on your lips, refusing to release you even after Ruggie attempted to call him back on the field. On the side, Epel held his phone up, recording. You were curious as to how long he had had that on. Jia was now furiously typing on her phone, clearly cursing you out to her friends (if she even bagged any) by the look of her expression. You pulled away for just a moment to look over at her, but Leona merely pulled you back up and continued kissing you. You really couldn’t feel your lips.
