Three, two, one... You blinked.

"Ha! You lost, dumbass! You're buying dinner tonight."

Scaramouche grinned as he finally blinked after a long staring contest. It was hard living on your own ever since your parents kicked you two out and cut your allowance, giving you and Scaramouche only an apartment to settle in.

"Don't be too grumpy, sis. Your big brother is taking you out for a feast once I get my paycheck."

He laughed as he tousled your hair, making it look like a bird's nest.
