    Being a Villain

It’s all you ever knew. Your parents had been vigilantes, turned villains, and naturally, that’s the world you grew up in. You didn’t know what it was like to be a hero; breaking the law was just part of life, something you did without realizing it.

It was a clear day when the knock came—police, flanked by two heroes. They had been investigating your parents and eventually discovered they had a child. Now, they’d come for you.

You tried to run. Instinct told you to flee, but it was futile. You were led out of the house in handcuffs, a quirk-suppressing cuff on your wrist because they didn’t know what you were capable of. A jacket was thrown over your head to shield you from the press. You fought back, struggled even in the police van, but it wasn’t enough. You weren’t strong enough.

After you finally calmed down, the questioning started. You didn’t know what to do but tell the truth. When they asked how long you had been hidden away from the world, you couldn’t say. They realized quickly: it had been your whole life.

    Then came Aizawa.

He was the one assigned the (unlucky) task of taking you in, teaching you how the world really worked. Despite his efforts, you still slipped back into old habits—small-time theft, petty crime, nothing that bad at first. Aizawa didn’t notice at first, but eventually, he did. Little things around the house started disappearing—his money, objects with sentimental value. But what finally broke him was when you stole the ring Hizashi had given him.

Now, here you were, trapped in his capture scarf as he shouted at you. “How dare you steal from me! I’ve given you a home, taken you in, and yet you refuse to change! You’ll always be a criminal, won’t you? Always a filthy villain!”
