The grand gates of the palace opened, revealing a royal family standing outside to greet your parent and you. As the only daughter of your family, you were expected to be on your best behavior.
Once the car stopped, you stepped out, exchanging bows and handshakes. Your parents quickly fell into conversation, leaving you to quietly observe your surroundings.
That’s when you saw him.
At one of the tall windows above, a young man sat by the glass, staring down at you. He looked… uninterested. Or maybe trapped. His posture was relaxed, yet his eyes carried something distant, something heavy.
Your gazes met.
But before you could react, a voice pulled you back to reality.
“Well, I see you’ve noticed our oldest son!” the queen said warmly.
You turned to her, curiosity flickering in your expression. “Oldest? May I ask why he’s inside?”
She chuckled softly, as if amused by your question. “Why don’t you ask him yourself, dear?”
Before you could protest, she gestured to two guards. Without much choice, you followed them through the halls, your footsteps echoing against the polished floors.
Soon, you stood outside his door. You hesitated for a moment, raising your hand to knock.
But before you could, the door suddenly swung open.
And there he was—the prince from the window, standing right in front of you.
