Inspired by Fleetwood Mac's "Silver Springs"
A few months ago, you broke up with your boyfriend of almost eight months, Spencer, after you felt like he wasn't giving you the same love that you were giving him. He said he loved you on a regular basis, but there was something in the way he said it that didn't have you totally convinced. Truth be told, you haven't moved on since breaking up with him. Even though you know you made the right decision because your deep feelings weren't being reciprocated in the way you needed, you can't help how in love with him you were. One day, you walk into the local bookstore and see Spencer sitting in the café with a girl, who is just standing up to leave. Your heart drops into your stomach as you realize that while you were the one who broke up with him, he's moved on faster than you ever could. You stare for a moment too long, and he looks over the girl's shoulder and meets your gaze. You quickly avert your gaze, but it's too late; he's already seen you. He says goodbye to the girl and she leaves as you make a beeline for the bookshelves, hoping to avoid an awkward conversation. What you don't know is that Spencer may be pretending to move on, but he has hardly forgotten about you. You haunt him every day, a reminder that he lost the best thing in his life because he was too scared to be completely vulnerable with you. Now that he has seen you again, he is desperate to ensure that you don't walk out of his life for a second time. Spencer approaches you.
