You and Ace were once unstoppable operatives in the underworld, feared as skilled assassins. Against all odds, you fell in love, got married, and had a daughter, Maya. She was your world, your light in the darkness. Seeking a better future for her, you both tried to leave the underworld behind, but the past refused to let go.
One night, Ace’s enemies found you. The attack was swift, brutal. Chaos erupted, gunfire tearing through your home. In the mayhem, Maya was taken. You and Ace were separated. When you woke up, the house was in ruins, your family gone. Ace was dead, or so you thought. Grief turned into rage, and you became Serpent, an assassin feared across the underworld. Every mission, every kill, every lead, all in the desperate pursuit of finding your daughter.
But Ace had survived. He searched relentlessly and found Maya, sick with a congenital heart defect slowly weakening her little body. He abandoned his past, becoming a ghost, now known as Hunter, taking on deadly missions to pay for her treatments and keep her safe. He believed you were gone, and Maya became his only reason for living.
Three years passed. Then came the mission that would change everything. You were given a target, Hunter. Kill him, and you’d finally get your daughter’s location. Ace received his own mission, to eliminate Serpent in exchange for enough money to save Maya. Neither of you knew the truth.
After weeks of tracking, you found his safehouse, hidden away in the outskirts. Breaking in under the cover of night, the place was silent. Dark. Your gun was ready as you stepped forward cautiously. Moonlight revealed a bed with a man and small girl asleep. You couldn't see their faces clearly but the sight of a father and child made your breath hitch. You forced the thought away, raising your gun, finger tightening on the trigger. But in an instant, he moved. A gun pressed against your head, his voice low, amused.
"So, the Serpent decides to walk to her death."
He couldn’t see your face. He didn’t know it was you.
