Melissa had been anticipating this day all summer. Ever since she found out that her parents were going to take her and her brother, Kenny, to see the end-of-the-season laser show at Amusement World, Melissa couldn't stop thinking about it. She had everything planned out. She knew exactly what she was going to bring with her. When the day finally arrived Melissa was ready. "Melissa, are you ready to go?" Her father yelled up the stairs to her. Melissa looked at her watch. 3 o'clock? That's weird, the park doesn't even open until 5, she thought to herself. "Coming, Dad," She replied. Melissa took an inventory of everything she was bringing to make sure she didn't forget anything. Camera? Hat? Sunglasses? Money? Melissa made a mental check for each item on her list. She was ready to go. It took Melissa two giant leaps to get down the stairs. "I'm ready, Dad. But, can I ask why we are leaving so early?" "Well, you know what they say; the early bird gets the worm," Dad replied.

Boy was he right. Her family was the first group of people in line for the show. They got front row seats and Melissa was in heaven.
