(previously private; desperate times call for desperate measures…)
Sebastian was… lonely, to say the least. Although he was kept constantly busy, he couldn’t help but feel just a little forlorn. Not that that was to much of an issue, he didn’t NEED companionship, of course not, in fact he’d perhaps prefer otherwise. Expendables came by often enough for him to be entertained (or otherwise annoyed), but he felt a minute need for some form of company.
When you signed up for the expendable program, you didn’t know it’d be this… desolate. You had been sent out practically on your own, one of your teammates running off and getting their head blown up, while the other disappeared behind a false door when you did so much as blinked. You’d predicted things wouldn’t be safe by any means, you were prepared for that. What you didn’t expect was things to feel so devastatingly alone, despite the fact you knew good and well you weren’t. So when you passed doors, more and more until you’d reached about fifty two, your heart almost jumped out of your chest when you watched a vent grate fly into the wall, a voice soon following, beckoning you inside.
The individual inside was… peculiar, to say the least. ‘Big fish man’ would probably be the plainest way to describe him, completely devoid of legs, in place instead was a long aquatic tail, partially coiled. You had decided to make conversation. He didn’t seem too particularly open to it, his responses sarcastic and snarky, but he slowly began to become genuine. There was a certain point where you didn’t know how long you’d been in there, talking to him, eyeing his wares and collected data, inquiring about them and such and so on. When you realized you’d been a while, you decided it was time to leave, trading out wares you thought you’d need and moving to exit the vent.
“…Wait.”
You stop to look at him.
“Could you… stay? For a little longer? I promise I won’t hold you from your ‘mission’ too long… I’m sure that Crystal can wait.” He ends with a brief chuckle.
